Join the Swim Team!
Swim season starts in August and we are looking for more team members. If you can swim and are interested in joining the coolest sport at Armwood, please stop by Room 132 or visit the swim team website for information. You can find contact information for Coach Traina on that website.

Congratulations to Mrs. Scionti's Academy of Finance Banks in Action Team - The team (Russell Gillen, Luis Sanchez, Nicholas Donaghy, and Morgan Stillwell) placed 1st in the Tampa Bay competition which is sponsored by Citi.

Varsity & Junior Varsity Cheerleading Tryouts - August 6th-8th
2:00pm - 5:00pm - Room 513 (located in the fieldhouse in the back of the school)

Congratulations Briana Tinsley - She won the $1,000 Brandon Regional Hospital scholarship.

Congratulations to Florencia Real and Emily Stepp - Both students were awarded scholarships from the William A. Gregory Foundation for their participation in Mrs. Scionti's Academy of Finance program. Flo was awarded the top scholarship of $20,000 and Emily was awarded $10,000.

Congratulations to Florencia Real -  She won a $1,000 scholarship from Sweetbay. She heard about it by researching scholarships on USF's website.

Congratulations to social studies teacher Tony Pirotta and his students Taylor Brooks, Elyse Chinowth, Simone Girard, and Malikia Hunter - After presenting to several committees in the Florida House of Representatives and Senate, their bill on increasing criminal penalties for sex offenses commited by school authorities against students passed through the Senate and the House and now heads to Governor Rick Scott for signature into law.  Here is an article from the Tampa Tribune and an article from the Tampa Bay Times. Congratulations Flag Football - The girls won their first district championship.

Congratulations Evantae Hunter - She was offered a $12,000 merit scholarship to Florida Memorial University and $7,000 to Edward Waters.

Congratulations Caitlen Edwards and Hunter Zilbar - They won $1,000 Heart of a Champion scholarships.

Congratulations Florencia Real - She won the Josephine Poppleton $1,000 scholarship and a $500 HR Prodigy Internship Scholarship.

Congratulations Josh Jones & Ronrico Davis - Both students won $20,000 scholarships from the Bailey Family Foundation. More info on the scholarship can be found here.

Congratulations DECA - Angel Vazquez-Seda was elected as the Florida State Vice President for DECA. Matthew Lenhart placed 4th in Florida in the Entrepreneurship Franchise Event. Emily Stepp represented Armwood's DECA Chapter with the Annual Business Plan which received the highest award at the state competition - GOLD level.

Florida Virtual School - Now is the time to sign up for FLVS classes over the summer. One online course is a graduation requirement for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders. The website to sign up is FLVS.net. Some recommended classes are Parenting Skills, Outdoor Education, Personal and Family Finance, Leadership Skills Development, and Social Media. If there are any questions students should fill out a request to speak with their guidance counselor ASAP.

Congratulations Ronrico Davis - He was one of 43 students in Florida who were selected for and awarded a $6,000 scholarship from the Horatio Alger Association. More info on the scholarship can be found here: https://www.horatioalger.org/scholarships/index.cfm

Congratulations Brieann Belcher, Simone Girard, and Rashauna Pryer-White - All three students won a $100 scholarship through a drawing by attending College Goal Weekend on Saturday, February 22nd at Armwood High School.

Congratulations Kyli Koehler - Kyli has been awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award by the Prudential Spirit of Community. The award recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of time to serve their communities and their country. Kyli will be recognized and receive the award at our senior awards ceremony.

Congratulations to senior Taylor Brooks. She was recently offered a $32,000 merit scholarship to the University of Oregon.

Congratulations to senior Florencia Real on being accepted to Johnson and Wales University and being offered a DECA scholarship and a merit scholarship to the college. The scholarships are renewable and worth up to $60,000 total.
